Common Core Digital Resources Galore with OpenEd!

As a classroom teacher, I spend hours searching the web looking for games, activities, videos, and interactives for my students every year. I keep an eye on various online communities, Pin somewhat obsessively, and watch more Youtube videos than any sane person should.

Naturally, I was thrilled when I came across OpenEd. The website has amassed nearly a quarter of a million different Common Core aligned videos, games, and activities for the K-12 classroom.

The site is free to educators, but requires users to create an account. Teachers can search the resources by subject area, topic, grade level, or specific Common Core standard.

Resources can be added to user-generated playlists that can be shared with friends, colleagues, and students via a link, email, Twitter, or Facebook. For a sample playlist, click here.

It would be very easy to place a link to your playlist on a classroom blog or website for easy student access. The site does not include any advertisements, but be aware that each resource opens in a new window, sending children to outside sites where advertisements or external links may be present. I would love to see some sort of "embed" feature in the future.
