Hey Everyone!  We are SO excited about our new blog, Technology Tailgate!

Making It As A Middle School Teacher
Michelle at Making It As A Middle School Teacher teaches 7th grade Math and Social Studies. She's a self proclaimed "math nerd who loves to read and totally addicted to technology!"  How's that for a combination?  She enjoys the fun as well as the challenges of teaching middle school.  Michelle says "It's wonderful to establish connections with these 'in-betweens' and help them to feel confident and successful!They are our future and a huge part of that future will center aroudn the technology we can introduce to them today."

  3. I love all things ipod, pad, and touch, lol!!! I'm not sure how I got along at all pre-iphone! In the classroom, I could not live without my Mimio, laptop. document camera, and projector!

  5. My favorite is the MacBook! I had 1:1 MacBooks in my first grade classroom this year, and after teaching this way, I cannot even imagine teaching without them! I LOVE this blog and can't wait to learn and share more tech tips!:)

  10. My iphone and ipad. They can do everything for me. My phone is more portable and thus goes everywhere. I even have an app that is set up with all my stds emergency info and it is locked. Try to get in with the wrong password and it all erases! Great for fires - grab the phone and the bag and go!!

  11. Currently my favorite piece of technology is my Kindle Fire! In the classroom, I love my MOBI and document camera. I would love a SmartBoard but we haven't received them yet at my school.

My favorite piece of technology is my laptop because, besides my phone which is the most basic cell phone around, I do not own any of the other types of technology (although I think I would love a Kindle Fire). I love technology just don't want to own a lot of it. In the classroom it would be my Promethean board and document camera. Those things are a life saver.

  15. I am a BIG avid user of technology in my classroom! My goal is to be a T.I.C one day! (Technology Instructional Coordinator) Yep, I made this job up! But I think teachers need someone to help them use the technology they have and even have someone model it for them. I use my iPhone to keep up with everything school! At school I use my laptop, projector, document camera, AND we have a Mimio! P.S.... I have a gold card at Starbucks! I think the barista's and I are BFFs! Also, pinterest "Starbucks Secret Menu" YOUR WELCOME :)

  19. I am a huge fan of Apple products. I have an i-everything. If I had to pick just one, it would be my iPhone. I use it in my classroom for music, organization, photos, timers, contacts, blogging, pinterest, texting....just about everything! You can't beat it's portability!

  20. My favorite is my iPad2 and my ipevodocu ent camera....the camera is great for my classroom! Only 69 dollars and it works great! Got both from Donors Choose

  22. My favorite piece of technology is the Promethean board. I use it during my mini lesson. The students interact with it during centers. Finally, I give a quick assessment using Activotes.

  23. I love any technology that gets my students ectied about learning! I recently purchased a set of (basic) Kindles for my classroom. Now I just have to figure out how best to use them. If ya'll have any ideas or tips I would love to hear them. Thanks!

  25. My favorite piece of technology would definitely be the iPad. I saw an app on pinterest the other day that would measure how loud kids were being in a classroom, and the average (of how it should be). Super awesome tech! :)

  30. At home, I love, love, love my iPhone. If I accidentally leave it at home, no matter how far away I might be, I turn around to get it! At school, I think my favorite piece of technology is my document camera. I love that students can show their work and share their thinking with everyone.

  37. My favorite tecchnology is my laptop at this point in time. I recently got an iPad2, but so far don't use it much. Having said that, I've not had a lot of time to play with it and see what it can do for me, so we'll see... :O)
